12 Accounting
This course offers students the opportunity to develop logical thinking as well as an understanding of the concepts that are the basis of accounting and the systems necessary to run a successful business.

It covers
·       Processing of accounting records on a cash or accrual basis with subsidiary ledgers, using Mind Your Own Business computer software

·       Identifying an accounting system for a range of sub-systems and carry out an investigation into a business’s systems

·       Preparing financial statements then analysing and interpreting accounting statements in order to report on the effectiveness of the firm and to present a range of information to assist users in decision-making

Qualification:  24 credits in NCEA Level 2 and 5 Level 3 credits in Accounting standards; 10 credits towards NZIM Certificate   in Management.
Entry Requirement:   11 credits in Level 1 Accounting standards or HOD approval.

This Course leads to: 13ACC – for which the entry requirement is 12 credits in Level 2 Accounting; Tertiary study.
