Thiis course is designed to equip students to cope with essential financial management skills regardless of their future career path. The course will promote knowledge and understanding of accounting as a financial language for individuals and small businesses, as well as apply financial knowledge and personal financial skills to practical situations.
The course covers:
· Individuals/Households - managing personal finances, bank records and reconciliation statements, explaining documents used in financial transactions, calculation of financial position and cash controls used and personal budgets.
· Businesses –processing financial data, preparation of financial statements, analysis and interpretation of financial reports, make informed financial decisions and develop business skills within the contexts of individuals and businesses.
Qualification: 23 credits in NCEA Level 1 Accounting standards.
Entry Requirement: Open
This Course leads to:
12ACC – for which the entry requirement is 11 credits in Level 1 Acc and
12 FAD – for which the entry requirement is 10 credits in Level 1 Maths.
