Qualification: 
20 credits in NCEA Level 2 Computing unit standards. If taken with 12CST (Year 12 Computer Studies) sufficient credits can be obtained to complete the National Certificate in Computing Level 2 version 5.

Entry Requirement: 
The equivalent of 15 credits in Level 1 Mathematics standards, including a grade of Achieved or better in 90147: Algebra or HOD approval.

Course Content:
This is an advanced technical course that will take an in-depth look at advanced applications, Coding WebPages, Computer Programming, and Control Technology (robotics).

This course is suited to people who want to work in the computer / IT industry in their future career. It is designed to increase technical and logical skills in several applications and introduce basic programming skills.
It is assessed with Unit Standards which carry the credits listed. These credits have the same value as Achievement Standards and can be used for NCEA level 2.
NB: Unit Standards are recorded on a student's record of learning as achieved/not achieved only. They will however be assessed for merit and excellence which will be shown on the College reports.

This Course leads to: 
13CTY – for which the entry requirement is a grade of Achieved in unit standards: 18740 (programming) and 25656 (website construction using HTML) and 25655 (website construction using Dreamweaver).
