12CST - Computer Studies
Qualification: 12 credits in NCEA Level 2 Computing unit standards. If taken with 12CTY (Year 12 Computer Technology) sufficient credits can be obtained to complete the National Certificate in Computing Level 2 version 5.
19 credits from the ICDL (International Computer Driver’s Licence) NCEA Level 2.
3 credits in NCEA Level 2 Computing unit standards (NCC compolsory), 8 credits in NCEA Level 2 Computing unit standard (NCC compolsory).
Entry Requirement: The equivalent of 12 credits in Level 1 Mathematics Standards or HOD approval.
Course Content: This is a general interest course available for Year 12 & Yr 13 students who would like to have a greater understanding of how computers work and become more proficient with common computer applications including Spreadsheets, Computer Graphics and Word Processing.
Fee: $10 + ICDL Skills Card $116.00 (Note: Re-sit assessments $11.00 each)
12CTY – Computer Technology
Qualification: 20 credits in NCEA Level 2 Computing unit standards. If taken with 12CST (Year 12 Computer Studies) sufficient credits can be obtained to complete the National Certificate in Computing Level 2 version 5.
Entry Requirement: The equivalent of 15 credits in Level 1 Mathematics standards, including a grade of Achieved or better in 90147: Algebra or HOD approval.
Course Content: This is an advanced technical course that will take an in-depth look at advanced applications, Coding WebPages and Computer Programming.
This Course leads to: 13CTY – for which the entry requirement is a grade of Achieved in standard 18740: Create a simple computer program to the specifications of a given brief and: 25656 (create website - HTML) or 25655 (create website - Dreamweaver)

13CTY - Computer Technology
Qualification: 20 credits in NCEA Level 3 Technology achievement standards and 11 credits in NCEA Level 3 unit standards
Entry Requirement: A grade of Achieved in standards: - 18740: Create a simple computer program to the specifications of a given brief and: 25656 (create website - HTML) or 25655 (create website - Dreamweaver).
Course Content: This course is designed for students with a proven aptitude for computing, who are likely to pursue further studies in computer science at tertiary level. Advanced applications and advanced website design form the basis of the course.
