UNIT 14182. –Version 3 Level 3. Demonstrate skills of mime in performance. 6 Credits (This unit standard is for students that are not sitting the external examinations)
Achievement objectives:
- Students will select and adapt elements, techniques, conventions, and technologies in various dramatic forms for a range of purposes. (PK)
- Students will initiate, develop and refine original drama and drama based on existing works. (DI)
- Students will rehearse and perform works in a range of dramatic forms, assuming diverse artistic or technical responsibilities. (CI)
- Students will reflect on and critically evaluate a wide range of works and performances. (CI)
- Students will research and analyse how drama interprets and records social and cultural history. (UC)
- Students will investigate the forms and styles of contemporary New Zealand drama and how they reflect our growing cultural diversity. (UC)
Pre-task moderation: Tasks are adapted from NZQA approved tasks. Tasks are read
and discussed by all staff concerned before commencing the
activities.
Marking moderation: Pair teacher marking at performances, timetables permitting.
All assessments will be recorded, so student work may be
viewed on video and moderated by another teacher. Decisions will be recorded in moderation book.
Authenticity: All tasks require rehearsal and practice that is observed by the
class teacher prior to the assessment.
Recording of Marks: All marks will be recorded in classroom teacher’s markbook, and on classroom manager
- To ensure authenticity all work must be rehearsed and performed in class.
- All grades will be recorded in teacher’s markbook and on classroom manager.
- Re-assessment opportunities will only be given where feasible, if at a lunch hour students will need to organise their own audience, for performance tasks.
- All internally assessed tasks will be videoed for moderation purposes. When possible live moderation will occur during the assessment performances, if this is not feasible moderation will occur at moderation meetings with other drama teachers, and decisions recorded in the moderation book, kept in drama office.
