Year 11 Drama
Student Assessment Statement
The Year 11 Drama course extends and develops the material covered in Years 9 and 10. You will be studying and completing activities for the NCEA Level 1 Drama. There will be regular formative testing of performance and reflection on class work, as well as assessment opportunities for the following achievement standards. If students have unexplained absences during the rehearsal time leading up to group NCEA assessments class teachers may withdraw the student from the group.
1.1 Use Drama Techniques (Internal) 4 credits
1.2 Use Elements and Conventions to Devise Drama (Internal) 4 credits
1.3 Demonstrate Knowledge of a Drama/Theatre Form (Internal) 3 credits
1.4 Perform an Acting Role (Internal) 4 credits
1.5 Perform a Technical/Production Role (Internal) 4 credits
External Examination on offer to accelerate drama students (2 Hour exam)
1.6 Understand and reflect on drama processes and performance applied to a new context
5 credits
Reassessment opportunities will only be offered where feasible
as live performance work in groups is often impossible to reassess fairly
Homework requirements: It is expected that each student will spend at least twenty minutes on Drama associated work each evening.
In order to gain entry to Year 12 Drama, students must achieve a minimum grade of Achieved in four achievement standards.
