Senior Concert Band

Senior Concert Band is probably the schools top performance group.  This band includes many players from all year levels within school (mostly Year 11 - 13) and plays to a high standard.  Most of the music we play is Grade 2-3, which in band terms is quite difficult.
Every second year we travel to a band festival in the South Island or overseas, and each year we enter the KBB festival in the Auckland Town Hall. We also perform annually at the Year 11-13 prizegiving ceremonies and at the outdoor concert, held at St Margarets Gardens in Karaka in November.

Our repertoire includes film music medleys, jazz, musical theatre, rock, pop and easy listening. We have a low turn over, as players who join are not in a hurry to leave, but there are always opportunities for students to audition! See Mrs Banham if you are interested.

Junior Concert Band

Junior Concert  Band caters for all juniors who play a band instrument. Senior band members are most welcome to join in and mentor the younger players.
We begin an intense series of rehearsals in term four in order to be ready for the junior Prizegiving ceremonies in December.
If you are interested in performing with this group for Junior Prizegiving please  see Mrs Banham!
