We are continuing to have problems with our automated telephone answering system, due to a fault that occurred during a lightning storm. Telephone calls can be answered by our receptionist, but you may experience a delay in having your call answered, if she is busy with another caller. Leaving a voicemail message may not be possible. Please be patient when trying to contact the College by phone, until this problem has been resolved. Alternatively, please send an email to inquiries@rosehill-college.co.nz

 Principal's Weekly Message

We begin this week the whole school assembly – it is held on the field as this is the only venue big enough for the whole school. Our student leaders for 2010 will be introduced at the assembly and the key messages will be about the Rosehill College values, in particular whanaungatanga, respect and personal excellence or panekiretanga. Year level assemblies will also be held this week, at which topics relevant to a particular group of students will be addressed. The key messages of these assemblies will be about making the most of this year academically and contributing to a positive learning environment in the classroom.

Property works that were completed during the holidays include the provision of more shade and shelter around B, C and S blocks, new or re-furbished toilets in C block and the Maori facility that will be opened in the near future. Students are encouraged to keep all parts of our environment as the next user would wish to find it – clean, free of litter, tagging or vandalism.

Te Roopu Awhina, the Rosehill College whanau support group meets this Wednesday at 6pm in the Student Support area. Parents and whanau are welcome to attend.

Senior students are required to have all subject fees fully paid by Thursday 11 February, (or an automatic payment set up) students will be required to select an option class which does not bear a class materials’ fee.

We have a full sports programme at Rosehill and would welcome anyone who can offer to help. If you are interested in coaching a Sports team, winter or summer, at Rosehill College please register your name with the Sports Office 295-0661 ext 844.
